Swiggy joins Deliver-E Coalition to accelerate shift towards zero-emission deliveries

Swiggy (Swiggy Ltd, NSE: SWIGGY / BSE: 544285), India’s leading on-demand convenience platform, announced that it has joined the Deliver-E Coalition, a global, industry-led alliance that is committed to accelerating the transition to zero-emission food and grocery deliveries. The coalition, hosted by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), aims to fast-track the adoption of electric two- and three-wheeler vehicles across delivery platforms worldwide, promoting cleaner, more sustainable urban mobility. The formation of this alliance was announced in Dubai earlier this week.

The Coalition’s founding Charter unites Members to “dramatically speed up the  implementation of zero-emission deliveries by shifting to electric vehicles, bicycles and  other means of zero-emission two- and three-wheeler deliveries, thereby unlocking  economic, social, and environmental benefits for all stakeholders and the wider society.” The Deliver-E-Coalition will focus on knowledge exchange, sharing best practices, track the progress of electrification, develop solutions to common issues, and enable the industry to overcome barriers to electrification. The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) will host the  Coalition Secretariat, providing research, administrative and communications support,  and supporting the industry’s transition to zero-emission deliveries.

By joining this coalition, Swiggy reinforces its long-term sustainability vision to make every order more planet friendly and has set a goal to transition to a 100% electric vehicle (EV) delivery fleet by 2030, enabling zero-emission deliveries. Swiggy has already taken several steps toward sustainable last-mile logistics. It has expanded its EV enablement partner network by over 2x in the last one year, onboarded  50+ collaborators across OEMs, fleet operators, charging infra players, as well as, Fleet-as-a-Service providers, and financiers. Swiggy has also scaled its EV delivery fleet by 7x in the last year. This has led to reduction of more than 4,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions through EV-enabled deliveries.

Commenting on the announcement, Neha Singhvi, Vice President- Public Affairs, Communications and ESG said, “At Swiggy, we are committed to working towards building a sustainable delivery network. For us, EV adoption is not just an operational shift, but a long-term transformation of how last-mile logistics works in India and we are committed to building an ecosystem that enables this. Joining the Deliver-E Coalition gives us a powerful platform to accelerate our efforts in building a cleaner, more inclusive delivery ecosystem. As one of India’s largest on-demand convenience platforms, our scale brings both responsibility and opportunity, to champion green mobility, support delivery partners in adopting EVs, and help cities breathe easier. With the Deliver-E Coalition, we aim to deepen these efforts by leveraging global learnings, advancing clean delivery technologies, and supporting delivery partners through the transition.”

Swiggy’s participation in the Deliver-E Coalition underscores its commitment to responsible growth and environmental stewardship. As food and grocery deliveries continue to rise across India, Swiggy remains focused on driving industry-wide progress through innovation, collaboration, and data-backed action, ensuring that every delivery moves India closer to a zero-emission future.

Swiggy has expanded its EV ecosystem across Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities. Today, Swiggy delivery partners can access over 70 EV models, ranging from low-speed vehicles for non-license holders to high-speed bikes with a range of more than 100 kilometers. To reduce adoption barriers, Swiggy offers flexible rental plans, ownership options, and third-party fleet access through collaborations with Yulu, Zypp, Baaz, Bike Bazaar, Hero, TVS, Kinetic, RidEV, and others. Recently, Swiggy also announced a partnership with Bounce to make electric mobility more accessible and affordable for thousands of Swiggy and Instamart delivery partners.
